Vibrator Shopping 101

Everything from clit vibes to G-spot vibes with Gigi Engle!

Video transcript

Hi, guys, I'm Gigi Engle. I am a writer, sex educator and journalist. And, I'm so excited that you guys are able to be here for the basics on vibrator shopping. I teach a lot of different classes about feminism, about sexual wellness, about women's health and health, in general, because it's something that I really believe in. You know, sex ed in America is a complete and total shit show. I especially love talking about sex toys because they're just such an amazing enhancement to sex and I think people often think that, if you need to have a sex toy or you wanna have a sex toy in the bedroom, that there must be something wrong with you or you're not fully enjoying your sex life, to the fullest, which is not the case at all. Sex toys are not our replacement for sex, they're not a replacement for your partner. They're just an amazing addition to any sex life. So, this is pretty much a stream that's directed at vulva owning people. Not that vibrators can't amazing for penis owning people, as well, but, I'm gonna be mostly focusing on vulva and the clitoris. So, hopefully, that's chill with you guys. Our wonderful moderator today is Brittany. She is going to be dropping in a bunch of links, a lot of recommendations to the toys that I'm gonna be sharing with you guys. I probably missed a couple that I'm gonna show you in the round up. If you're watching on Instagram, that's awesome, but, if you want to get the recommendations of the toys I'm gonna be sharing during this broadcast, then you should go to O.School. You can put it in on your browser, whether it's mobile, computer, whatnot. And, that's how you'll be able to see links to the toys that I'm gonna be sharing, if you want to buy those for yourself. I'm also doing a lot of interaction. That's mostly through the O.School interface. Again, that's O.School. It's also an amazing way for you to give me money. 'Cause there is a tip jar where you can leave me cash if you are enjoying the information that I am sharing with you today. Obviously, don't feel obligated, but, you know, if you want to, I'm not gonna say no. Also, that's the place where I'm gonna be interacting with people, answering questions and taking comments. If you are a sex toy connoisseur and you want to share some information or you want to share your favorite toy or you wanna share some general thoughts or get some feedback, feel free to jump into the comments and share that with me. I love being interactive with people. If you're a beginner, or you are somebody who's very curious about sex toys, then, feel free to ask a question. If you want recommendations, if you wanna know how to use them, if you wanna know the different between a tickly and a rumbly vibrator, we're gonna cover all of that good stuff. So, it's gonna be super interactive. I hope that people will ask questions and really make this a conversation, as opposed to just me talking at the screen, which is still fun and I have plenty to say. But, I like to answer your questions and make sure that you guys are getting the most out of this experience, because, I want you to have fun and I want me to have fun. So, our moderator, today, in the O.School live box, is gonna be making sure that this conversation is sexy and sex positive and fun. That there aren't any people being freaks in the comments. No offense to the freaks out there, but, if you're gonna be weird or disgusting, like, just tune out now 'cause I'm not gonna interact with you and it's not gonna be tolerated. So, just stay sex positive, stay fun, stay lively, come with real questions and be a part of this fun workshop with me. Because, I want this to about all of us, not just myself. I'm, first, gonna introduce you to a very special guest, who's going to be joining me on this livestream today, and, her name is Valerie. And, Valerie is a vulva puppet. This is obviously a dramatic art piece that is not necessarily an anatomically correct vulva, but, she definitely serves her purposes. And, because I'm gonna be talking mostly about vulva, the clitoris and labia, etc. today, she can be a very useful tool for teaching. So, I'm just gonna quickly run through, um, she literally is a puppet. So, to quickly just run through the parts of the vulva before we get into vibrator shopping. So, when a vulva is, when your legs are closed or you're standing with your legs together, as a female bodied person, this is what your vulva normally looks like. She's closed. So, this is Valerie at her stasis, is sort of when your legs are spread. So, this is the clitoral hood, underneath the clitoral hood you find our clitoris. This doesn't include the wings and the vestibular bulbs, which are spread back into the abdomen. So, you're just gonna see the nubbin that you see on the outside. This is an external representation. If you go into here and take this deep pocket, here, that's the vaginal canal. We have the outer labia and the beautiful inner labia. And, then, for teaching purposes, even though the G-Spot is located within the vaginal canal, near the urethral sponge, the G-Spot is represented by this flowery piece of lace, here. So, you actually can see the G-Spot inside of this vulva puppet, but, you wouldn't be able to see it, obviously. That is, if you know where the G-Spot is, which, I shouldn't say obviously, because, maybe you don't, and, that's okay, too. So, if you wanna ask questions, if you have any questions about the vulva, about the clitoris, specifically, as it pertains to vibrators and vibrator shopping, please go ahead and ask those questions. I love interacting with you guys, I love having a conversation and keeping it lively. Because one of the beautiful things about having a space like O.School, is that, we can have these conversations and be open with each other and ask the stuff that we may not have learned in school or probably very, very highly unlikely learned in school or from our parents or from loved ones. And, I don't know exactly what kind of messages each of you had around sex, but, it's important that we're able to have these conversations and it's great that we have this platform where we can talk openly and honestly about sex and pleasure and sex toys. 'Cause sex toys are the best and they're so much fun. Okay, so, let's get started with this workshop. I feel like I, sort of, did the whole schpiel. For those of you who are just joining this conversation, we are going to be talking all about vibrator shopping, today. We're going to be focusing mostly, on vulva owning individuals, vulva bodied people, just for the purposes of vibrators. Basically, that's for who they were designed for, unless you get a vibrating cock ring. But, we're not really gonna get into that. We're gonna be mostly talking about clitoral vibrators, G-Spot vibrators, vibrators that are for vulva owning humans. Of course, this isn't just for female bodied people, though. You know, if you're a male bodied person, you might have a partner who's a female bodied person. You might just be generally curious about vibrators and that's absolutely valid, and, you're welcome to be a part of this stream and a part of this conversation. Because everybody should know about vibrators. Everybody should know about sex toys. Everybody should know about pleasure products, in general, because they are important tools for sexual wellness and that's part of having a happy and wonderful life. So, let's start. Okay, there are a couple of basic principles, when it comes to vibrator shopping. We'll get into price points and materials and everything in a minute. But, to get started, there's two basic types of vibrators. Well, three basic types of vibrators, I'm gonna be covering in this live stream. Clitoral vibrators, G-Spot vibrators and, then, couple vibrators. A clitoral vibrator, I'll show you an example. Again, if you are on Instagram, I'm not really gonna be interacting with people on Instagram. So, if you're asking questions in the Instagram box, I might not see them. I might, if I get a chance, but, everything on Instagram moves really quickly, so, if you do wanna interact with me and ask questions, put O.School into your browser and come into the actual O.School interface and interact with me because that's where I'm gonna be answering most of the questions, because I just can't keep up with both screens at the same time. And, I'm mostly just streaming through Instagram for your convenience. Okay, so, let's go back to the three basic types of vibrators. There are clitoral vibrators, G-Spot vibrators and couples vibrators. We're gonna start with clitoral vibrators because they're the easiest to unpact. Unpact... umpact? Impact... easiest to impact, impact. So, okay, this is an example of a clitoral vibrator. Again, all the toys I'm gonna be showing you, our moderator, Brittany, is gonna be dropping the links to all of these products into the O.School interface. So, if you're on Instagram, you're not gonna to actually see the links of everything that I'm sharing with you. Which is kinda of a bummer, 'cause all my recommendations are awesome. So, if you actually want to be able to purchase these products, go into the O.School interface, that's O-dot-School. I have great recs because I've been doing this for a really long time and have pretty much every sex toy known to man. My entire house is just, like, a giant sex shop, at this point. I could probably open my own sex shop, at this point, where I could sell all of these vibrators that I have. But, I won't do that. Anyway, not the point. So, back to clitoral vibrators. So, why clitoral vibrators? The clitoris is a really enormous integral part of female bodied people. It's an integral part of their pleasure. 70% of female bodied people require clitoris stimulation in order to achieve orgasm. When you're having penetrative sex, which is not the only kind of sex, by the way, and, certainly, not the only valid kind of sex. When you're having straight penetrative sex, assuming that's the kind of sex you're having, for the purposes of this workshop, then, you're probably not gonna get the clitoris stimulation you need, without manual stimulation or stimulation from a specific toy designed for the clitoris. So, that's what's so great about a clitoral vibrator. The vibrators are specifically designed to get your clitoris in on the action, so that you can have more orgasms. Whether that be through penetration, whether that be during foreplay, whether that be during masturbation. A vibrator is a girl's best friend. One of the reasons I love the, this is the Form 2 from Jimmyjane. It's, sort of, on your higher end vibrator. I really look at vibrators, in general, no matter the kind, as an investment. I invest in vibrators they way that people invest in shoes and purses and collectibles and that kind of thing. Because, the more high quality they are, the longer they last. And, you don't want your vibrators to be pieces of shit 'cause they are going on and inside of your body and nobody wants that. So, what I love about this vibrator is that it's really non-threatening, so, it's great for couple play. Whether you're in same-sex or gender queer, heterosexual relationship or any kind of relationship that you're in, they're just really non-threatening to any kind of partner because the little guy is small. I love it because it has these two little bunny ears, which seem like it's sort of like a cute thing. But, actually, it goes on either side of the clitoris and I'm gonna show you with Valerie, which is why we have her. So, we're gonna lift the clitoral hood. So, the Form 2 can go, when you use it, it goes on, well, this is a giant clitoris, but, it goes on either side of the clitoris when it's on. So, that you're getting that double stimulation at the same time, which can lead to orgasm faster. It's also just a really interesting form of stimulation. It's one of the reasons I love these. When it comes to shopping for vibrators, you don't want to buy things that are made of shitty materials. There are a couple of things to look for. Don't buy a vibrator from places like Spencer's or Adam & Eve. Adam & Eve actually has some good stuff. But, there's a lot of places, like, truck stop places or places you see when you're driving along the highway and it's, like, "Sexy Boutique, come inside." Like, no, it's sketchy as fuck. Don't go into those places and don't buy sex toys from there. Because, fun fact, all sex toys are, none of them are regulated by the FDA, so, the same kinds of materials that the FDA regulates in children's toys and any other plastic or any other body product, they don't regulate that. So, if you're gonna go shopping for vibrators, make sure that you're sticking to places that are actually high-end. Some recommendations are, go to Babeland, Good Vibrations, Please... Please is the name of the place. Um, Tickle Kitty... there are a lot of really good feminist sex shops that carry really high-end, great products. So, don't go to seedy, sketchy places because you're already on a bad footing there. Plus, it's just not a great shopping experience. You're gonna go in there and you're gonna be looking for a vibrator and it's gonna be some creepy dude, with plumber's crack, who's staring at you, judgmentally, and is, like, "What are you doing in here," behind a comic book. And, you're, like, "I shouldn't be in here, this place is creepy as fuck." So, go to high-end places. If you go to a place, for instance, my favorite sex shop, which is Babeland, the customer experience is just incredible. You go in there and it's these fabulous gender fluid, super knowledgeable sex educators who know their shit and make you feel really good about yourself and really good about sex and good about your body. And, they know everything there is to know about vibrators and everything there is to know about sex toys, so, it's a really good experience. Another great thing about these higher end sex shops is that they are all available online. You can shop at Please online, you can do The Pleasure Chest, that's all available online. Babeland's online, Good Vibrations. And, all these places ship, so, it's awesome to be able to have these places where you can actually go and purchase stuff online. Speaking of online, I don't recommend buying your products from Amazon, unless you know what you're getting. For instance, one of my favorite clitoral vibrators is the Satisfyer. There's a bunch of different variations of the Satisfyer, but, essentially, what this little adorable thing does is this actually acts like simulated oral sex through vibrations and air pressure. It genuinely simulates oral sex. You put it over your clitoris, you're sitting there for, like, 60 seconds and you're not sure what's going on. And, then, all of a sudden, you're having orgasm. It's kind of, like, mind blowing and weird, but, in a good way. But, they actually sell this on Amazon. So, if you know what you're buying, you can shop on Amazon. But, if you're new to vibrator shopping or you're new to sex toy shopping, stick to the actual wholesale places. The place I'm recommending, your Babelands, your Good Vibrations and the places that sell good products that you can actually trust and they don't keep shitty stuff in stock. What I mean by shitty vibrators and bad sex toy materials, is that, you should be looking for a couple of things when looking at sex toys. If you're buying something that's made of silicone, be sure that it says body safe silicone or it says medical grade silicone. Medical grade is definitely preferred, but, body safe is also fine. You don't wanna use products that are made of jelly. That's a really porous material and it doesn't matter how much you disinfect it, it's still going to retain bacteria. So, definitely, don't use stuff made of jelly. Medical grade silicone... as far as vibrators go, I would say medical grade silicone, or body safe silicone, are your best bet. So, make sure you're looking for those kinds of products. When it comes to vibrators, I'm pretty sure that's... Essentially, that's pretty much all you're gonna get, with vibrators. There are some hard plastic vibrators, which are also fine. Make sure, if you're looking at something made of plastic that is says hard plastic on it and that it doesn't have grooves in the sex toy and stuff. Okay, so, let's talk about, okay, so, we've talked about clitoral vibrators. Back to more stuff on clitoral vibrators. Another recommendation I have for you guys is the Fin, from Dame Products. Again, if you want to see the recommendations that I'm dropping in, our moderator in the O.School interface, Brittany, is dropping a bunch of links to everything that I'm recommending. To the sex shops that I'm recommending you shop at. So, if you're on Instagram, you're not gonna be able to see those recommendations. I, also, am not gonna be able to interact with you very much, on Instagram, because the comments move really quickly and I don't have the capacity to be doing that. So, if you go onto O.School, I can answer your questions. But, otherwise, I'm not gonna be able to. So, if you're on Instagram, enjoy the ride, but, you're not gonna be able to get the links and that's kind of a bummer. So, this is why I love the Fin. So, Fin from Dame Products, the link is in the O.School interface right now, is that it's made of medical grade silicone. Dame Products is a female-founded, female-run company that I'm obsessed with. It's super feminist, super awesome. Fin is really simple, it's a really easy to use vibrator. And, it attaches to your hand, like this. So, it's fantastic for couples play. Like I said, one of the reasons you wanna bring a vibrator in during couples play, if you're a vulva owning person, is because 70% of women, and, I'll say it's probably more like 95%, if I'm gonna be real, need and require clitoral stimulation to achieve orgasm. So, this is a great one for couples play because it really doesn't get in the way. Some vibrators, if you have something enormous, like a Wand vibrator. This is an example of a Wand vibrator, which we'll talk about in a minute. This is kind of hard in couples play because it's so enormous and kind of scary. Not necessarily scary, but, yeah, it's kinda scary. Depending on who you are, that can be a scary one. I'll drop a recommendation of that, but, it's an awesome vibrator. Just so everybody knows So, you have your clitoral vibrator, this is Fin. And, you're able to have it on your hand and you can stimulate the clitoris and you can move it down the labia, like, inner and outer. And, it just... as if it were a part of your hand. So, your hand becomes this magical, vibrating device, which is super great and offers awesome, powerful vibrations. It's also a powerful little fucker. You'd think that this little thing wouldn't be able to do much, but, it's actually really awesome. It's actually my favorite toy. Possibly my favorite toy... no, I can't say that. I always say that and then I'm gonna end up saying that about every single vibrator that I show you. So, take that with a grain of salt. But, it is one of my favorites. Again, if you want these products, I am sharing them in the O.School interface. So, come into O.School and, while you're at it, give me money. 'Cause there's a tip jar. You can give me money if you want to, 'cause I love money and you love giving me money. So, you should come on in and give me money. 'Cause O.School splits their tips with the moderators. No, moderators... splits their tips with the pleasure professionals, 50/50. I'm glad I know what I'm called, that's normal. Okay, so, back to clitoral stimulation and vibrator recommendations. If you guys have questions, feel free to ask them. Doesn't look like there's too much going inside of the O.School chat box right now. I can't really interact with people in Instagram, It moves too quickly. I can't follow along with who's asking what. So, if you want to interact with me, please go to O.School and ask me your questions about vibrators and what you want to know about them and ask me where you should shop and how you can talk to your partner about them and what you should buy and what does what and all that. Speaking of what does what... there are two basic kind of vibrators, as far as stimulation goes. There's, sort of, a tickly vibrator and then there's more, like, rumbly, intense vibrators. I would call the Jimmyjane more of a tickly vibrator. The vibration,I'm gonna turn it on. Okay, can you guys even hear this? It's kinda like a light buzzing. That was the first time I ever fully turned a vibrator on during one of these, so that was exciting. It was very exciting for me, I hope it was good for you guys, too. So, that's sort of, like, a tickly sound. And, then, this is Le Wand, which I'm obsessed with. And, you guys will absolutely love this vibrator. If you actually want to invest in something, it's kind of expensive. I feel like it's $180, but, it is worth every penny. It is my favorite vibrator in the history of the world. Which, I, literally, just said I wouldn't say again, so, I'm sorry. But, this is more, like, rumbly. Can you guys hear? So, that's, like, rumbly... and, that's tickly. Rumbly... Tickly... That was so fun. God, I wish could, I was about to say, "I wish I could get paid to do this," and, then I realized that's exactly what I'm doing, right now. So, yeah, that is the difference. If you're wondering what you might be more interested in, a tickly vibrator is more, not "tickly," like, make you giggle. I mean, it makes some people giggle, but, it tickly. It's kind of a lighter vibration. It's got more like a surface vibration. Whereas, a rumbly vibrator, like the Wand, really, really goes deep. It's like a heavy, heavy vibration. So, it really depends on what you prefer. You also don't have to prefer either rumbly or tickly, you can have a variety of both, I certainly do. You know, sometimes you're in the mood for a little light vibration pattern, more like a tickly surface vibration. Sometimes, you want some deep-ass vibrating shit. And, so you get the other vibrators out and you're, like, "Oh, I want a rumbly vibrator today." I would even call, and, size doesn't matter, that was funny. So, you think, tickly/small, rumbly/big, but, that's also not true. I would call the Fin more of a rumbly. Oh, it's not gonna turn on, I forgot, I totally wore that shit out and then never charged it... my bad. But, the Fin is really small and this is more like a rumbly vibrator. So, yeah, that's basically the two big differences, I would say. If anybody out there has other variations of vibrators, where they would be, like, "Oh, it's not just tickly and rumbly, it's, you know, other variations," let me know, drop that in. The more information the better, there are no right answers. The only right answer is that everybody should own and love vibrators. That's the only right answer that I can possibly think of, at this moment. 'Cause that's just the truth; vibrators are the best. It's an indisputable fact. Next, let's talk about price points. One of the questions that I get a lot during these workshops and during classes, in general, is, "I get it, the Jimmyjane 2 is so cute "and fun, but, is, like, so expensive, it's, like, $160. "And, that Wand vibrator is $180. "I don't wanna spend $180 on a vibrator." And, you know what, I get it. They're kind of expensive and that's a pain in the ass. Especially when you're buying something that's made of good materials. 'Cause, you can buy some really shitty vibrators at shitty, shitty stores, at the truck stop, on the corner of Highway 14 and be, like, "Yeah, this is perfect, this costs me $20." And, then, it's made of jelly and it's full of bacteria and then it doesn't last and it's disgusting. And, your $20 investment ends up being zero dollars, 'cause it was a piece of shit. Funny story, I once bought a jelly cock ring when I was in Ithica with my, then, partner and it only lasted the weekend. And, that thing was really, really gnarly by the end of the weekend. So, I don't think I really would have wanted to keep it, anyway. We ended up just having to throw it away 'cause it was sticky and gross and you can't fucking clean them 'cause they're made of jelly. I have serious, serious qualms with that shit. So, yeah, anyway, price wise, my bad. Sorry, went on a tangent, there. People are, like, tell me about cheaper vibrators 'cause I'm not gonna buy that, it's too expensive. So, I'm, like, "Alright, that's fair." So, a couple of recommendations, which, Brittany is actually gonna have to look this one up 'cause I just realized I didn't put it in there. You can buy battery powered vibrators that are definitely on the lower end of quality. They're still made of good materials, though. It's still body safe silicone, it's still hard plastic, which are the basic things you have to choose. You know, if you're just starting out with vibrators, you're just starting out with sex toys. Maybe a hundred-something is too much of an investment. A battery powered choice is totally fine, just make sure you're buying something that's of good material. A good example is this little Adam & Eve silicone, battery powered, vibrator. It's really simple to use, it just takes the one little battery. It can be replaced. I think this vibrator was only $25 and it's actually lasted me a really, really long time. I probably had it a couple years, so, don't knock it if you, well, it needs a new battery, that's good to know. So, don't knock it... sometimes your favorite vibrator is your small little battery powered bullet vibrator. A great thing about a small vibrator like this, is that, they're very accessible, they're usually very low in price. But, I like this one and, then, I don't have an example, but, I love the Pocket Toyfriend, which is from Tickler Vibes, and, they make really high quality products. But, they are on the much lower price point and you can get a Tickler Pocket Toyfriend for, I think they're $25. So, that's a really good price. And, then, also, you can go to Unbound. Unbound is probably my favorite place to shop for vibrators, which I should have recommended in my list, unboundbox.com. Again, if you want these links, they're gonna be in the O.School live box. Oh, we have a question... question, question. "What's the difference between the Le Wand and the Hitachi Magic Wand?" Great question, I was actually going to write an article about this, Jackie R., thank you for asking. Okay, so, Le Wand and the Hitachi Magic Wand are essentially the same principle. The Hitachi Magic Wand was the little black dress of vibrators for a very, very long time. And, it very much still is. It's a very reliable product. They are less expensive than the Le Wand. They are, I think, about $80, they may even be $70. So, they're reliable, they're good vibrators. The reason I love Le Wand is because they actually embrace their status as a sex toy. The Hitachi Magic Wand, which I'm pretty sure it isn't even called, it's not even called Hitachi. I think they took Hitachi out of the name because they were embarrassed that people were associating it with sex toys. And, I'm just really not about that. I'm like, if you're gonna be a fucking cool company and you're gonna make something I wanna purchase, then you're gonna be, like, "Yeah, I'm a fucking sex toy, yeah, I get women off. Yeah, I make clitoris' buzz and bring them joy." Nobody uses a fucking Hitachi Magic Wand as a neck massager. And, if you do, that's kind of, I guess, weird, but, also, cool. Like, you can use it for whatever you want, like, personal agency and do your thing. But, nobody uses the Hitachi Magic Wand for that. This is clearly a fucking vibrator. So, it looks exactly like Le Wand, right? But, Le Wand is designed to actually be a vibrator. So, it's more high quality, in my opinion, anyway. And, it has this, let me get it closer, you can see it has this bendable head, so it moves. So, you can kind of, like... I'm gonna get... And, it's also a rumbly vibrator, so, you can... Let me grab Valerie. You can get all up in there and you can ride it, this way. And, you can put it all up everywhere and it moves around. And, it comes with these... it doesn't come with, but, it has these additional attachments, which I have, but, they're under my bed, somewhere. Which, I probably should have brought out. And, they have an attachment, where you can take off this one and you can put this one on that's like a hook. Kind of looks like Gonzo's nose. And, it's perfect for G-Spot stimulation. So, that's a really big difference. It's, like, Le Wand is, like, "We're a fucking sex toy company and here's our beautiful vibrators and enjoy your sexuality, yea sex, hooray for orgasms," and, then, Hitachi's like, "We're a massager, don't call us that sex toy." And, you're just, like, "Fuck you, dude." It's stupid... okay, woo, rant over. So, I hope that answered your question. I feel like that was pretty thorough. Okay, so, Carly, "I am brand new to sex, a virgin and everything. And, I started masturbating, as I don't have a partner." Okay, cool, that's great, I'm so happy. What is your question? I would love to chat about it because everyone should be masturbating. It doesn't matter if you're a virgin, it doesn't matter if you're married, it doesn't matter if you're in a long term relationship, it doesn't matter if you're poly, it doesn't matter if you're single, it doesn't matter if you're swinging. Everybody should be masturbating, no matter what, because masturbation is the best. And, all those myths you hear about people being, like, "Oh, my god, if you masturbate, your hands are gonna grow palm hairy and then you're gonna die." None of that shit is true. Also, there's no such thing as becoming addicted to vibrations. That's a really important point I wanted to cover, here. There's no such thing as being addicted to vibrators. You can sometimes use them so often, and use the same vibrators so often, that your clitoris becomes a little bit... I don't wanna even say desensitized, it's more just, like, used to that vibration. So, you have to take a break and maybe use a different sex toy for awhile. Or, maybe use your hand to do manual stimulation for a little bit, but, your clitoris isn't going to be permanently desensitized, fucking bullshit. And, anyone who tells you that is, like, asshole, and don't listen to them. Okay... cool. "I am out of work due," back to the question. So, we're gonna start over. Okay, "I am brand new to sex, a virgin and everything. "I started masturbation, as I don't have a partner. "I am out of work, due to to medical issues "and have no money, I'm a 24 year old female. "I got four free sex toys from this website and was wondering if they were safe or okay to use." Awesome, okay, cool, so, you are shopping at, I can see, what do you have here, Carly? So, you got vibrators from Too Timid, which is a great website, so, I'm already feeling that. That's one of the places that you can trust. If anybody's wondering if they can trust something, just let me know. You're like, "I don't know, can I trust this?" Send it to me and I will let you know if it's fine. Actually, that can be part of this workshop. If you guys wanna send me links to your sex toys and be, like, "Can I use this," I'm happy to give you that information. I just need the product info. These look not safe, but, let me take a look at this. Okay... Sorry, guys, I'm sort of doing a sex coach, here. Sex coachin'... what have we got? I'm trying to see what these are made of. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Okay, so, which is weird 'cause Too Timid usually makes really good products. So, Carly, I want you to go onto... click your link and go look at where, at the bottom of the page, where it says material. And, it says, realistic feel, jelly rubber. Jelly, you wanna go, "no!" The minute you see something says jelly or something says rubber, you go, "No, no, no, no, no," and you throw it away. You do not use something that's made of jelly, you do not use something that is made of rubber. Jelly and rubber are extremely high porous materials. They absorb bacteria so that they're impossible to clean. You can soak that shit in bleach and you're not gonna be able to get rid of all the bacteria that is hidden in those teeny, tiny, little, microscopic crevices. So, I'm kind of weirded out that Too Timid would even be selling something like this, because, I actually usually like their stuff. But, this is made of jelly and rubber, so, fuck that. Do not use that. That's all I have to say, that's all I had to say about that. I totally get that you're broke and that sucks. We all are, that's the way of the world. But, invest in a hard plastic clitoral vibrator. Something small... check out Babeland. Check out Unbound. Unbound makes a great vibrator that's $25 called the... The fuck is it called... Brittany has the link for it. Brittany, what are the Unbound links that I sent you, hold on. The Bean, The Bean from Unbound. That's what I'm gonna recommend to you, Carly. Go to unboundbox.com, check out The Bean. It's, like, $25, it's made of silicone. It's water proof and it's battery powered and it's reliable and I love it and it's great and sometimes you have to just spend a couple dollars. We're not gonna use these shitty jelly toys that are full of bacteria and super, fucking bad for you. And, no, I... against! I'm also pissed at Too Timid and I'm never gonna recommend anything from them again. So, sorry if anyone here is obsessed with Too Timid or is a PR Rep for them, but, you suck for selling that shit. you know, I'm gettin' fired up, but, I'm, like, gotta take a look before I break. Okay, Jackie, "So, sounds like you recommend Le Wand as higher quality, even though Hitachi was the first little black dress. Don't wanna have FOMO if I get the non-original." Oh, no, I definitely wouldn't say I'm against the Hitachi. It's cheaper, it's still made of good materials. If you want to get the Hitachi Magic Wand, go for it, do your thing. Just, I don't like the Hitachi Magic Wand anymore, I'm against the Hitachi Magic Wand because, like, own your shit as a sex toy. Also, I do think Le Wand is made of better materials. Hitachi is not unsafe, it's definitely body safe, it's made of silicone and plastic, it's fine. But, the Le Wand is a better product. It's more sex positive, it's more feminist, it's more embracing of the sexual power. And, I feel like, when you're masturbating or when you're with a partner, when you're using a sex toy, you want that. You want to feel good about where you got your sex toy. But, I guess, beggars can't be choosers, sometimes. So, if you need to buy something cheaper, you're not gonna be, like, "Oh, my god, this isn't an organic, fair trade sex toy." Carly, "This makes me sad. "I'm living with my little grandparents "and I can't afford to buy my medications "for various health issues, I just can't. "I'll just have to wait, I guess." Yeah, I'm sorry, that sucks. You can, it's not like it's... I'm not making it illegal for you to use them. I just really wouldn't, 'cause you might end up with bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection if you use jelly sex toys, 'cause they hold onto bacteria and they are bad for you and they're low quality. So, I just really wouldn't. Get to know your hand... get to know your shower head. There's so many things that are not, that you can use as vibrator, use for vibration purposes that aren't, necessarily, vibrators. The shower head, I feel like, is most of our young vulva owners, it's like our first real experience with clitoris stimulation. That's how I, no, I didn't discover it that way. I discovered clitoris stimulation humping my parents four-poster bed. Which, ironically, I now have a four-poster bed. Unrelated? Maybe? But, the shower head! The water's coming down and you're just, like, "That's interesting, what is going on here" and, all of a sudden, you're, like, "Ah, I'm having an orgasm." Get to know your hand, get to know your shower head. And, just don't use shitty materials, it's not worth it. It's not worth the infection, then you're gonna be, like, "Oh, I could have spent $25 on a hard plastic, "battery powered sex toy from Babeland, "but, I chose to use the jelly products "that I got from Too Timid and now I have to spend $20 on "medication to get rid of this fungal yeast infection "that I have now gotten as a result of "my using these jelly toys too much." So, yeah, you don't want that, it's no fun. It's no good, nobody wants that. I hope I've convinced you. That's upsetting, though. Speaking of which, though, speaking of which, though, as far as, if you are a gal on a budget, even if you're a gal on a budge and you're, like, "Oh, these sex toys are so expensive," go to unboundbox and Babeland and Good Vibrations and Please and The Pleasure Chest, all of these links are in the O.School interface, and sign up for their newsletters. It's an awesome way to get discounts. I get a newsletter from a sex toy company probably every day, during the week, where it's some kind of huge deal. Like, 20% off for Presidents Day. Like, 25% off because we love clitorises. It's, like, okay, cool. So, you can actually get pretty good deals. The Fin is a really well priced sex toy, like, $70. About as good as you're gonna get and it also lasts forever. despite the fact that it's dead right now 'cause I didn't charge it. It's lasted me a few years and it will last for multiple years, it shows no signs of slowing down. So, invest in your sex toys, keep it interesting, keep it alive. Oh, shit, okay, it's 5:40, I've been talking about materials for a really long time. I wanna talk a little bit about G-Spot vibrators because we didn't get a chance to discuss those yet. Also, if you have questions, drop them into the O.School interface comment box because I'm happy to answer them and chat with you about this stuff. Hopefully, to positive results. To help everybody embrace and love their bodies and sex positivity, because that is what we're here for. Also, if you wanna give me money, feel free, I love money. Okay, so, let's talk about G-Spot vibes. I don't have many examples. I just realized the only things I really pulled were clitoral vibrators. So, bear with me, I do have one, though. Okay, so, let's first talk about the G-Spot and why G-Spot stimulation is pleasurable for some, and a lot, of vulva owning individuals. G-Spot stimulation is not gonna be for everybody. It's great, for people who like it. Pretty much every vulva owning human enjoys clitoral stimulation, but, you can't really say all. But, G-Spot stimulation can be a very different kind of stimulation and some people, excuse me, some people aren't into it, and, that's fine. If you're not into G-Spot stimulation, that's cool. But, I would definitely suggest giving it a go and trying a bunch of different stuff out and not riding something off until you've fully explored it to it's full potential and decided if that's something you enjoy or don't enjoy. Okay, so G-Spot stimulation, so, let's talk a little bit about the G-Spot. We' re bringing back Valerie the Vulva puppet. Say hi, everybody, Valerie's here. My favorite! If Valerie's in my workshop, it's gonna be a good time. She make me less nervous, I'm, like, "Valerie's with me, I'm fine." Let's talk about the G-Spot. As I said in the beginning of this workshop, if you missed the beginning of the workshop, I'm gonna go over it again. This is a vulva puppet, it is an artistic representation of the vulva, it is not, necessarily, anatomically correct. Obviously, not anatomically correct. If your vulva is this gigantic, you must be a very, very gigantic human being. A giant, in fact. So, this is, like, the clitoral hood. Not "like," it is the clitoral hood, which covers the clitoris. The clitoris is here. As you can see, it's a ginormous clitoris. I kinda wish my clitoris was this big, actually. It'd be so much easier for partners to find. The wings and the internal part of the clitoris are not represented here because it is a puppet and you're only seeing the external. Except, weirdly... well, not "weirdly," because you wouldn't be able to see this for the simulation aspect of workshop. This is the G-Spot, which is shown here, with this beautiful piece of lace and little rose, even though the G-Spot is not visible from the outside of the vulva. We also have the labia majora and the labia minora, here. So, you can see the entire vulva. And, then, of course, the vagina is this deep pocket, here. It even talks, it's legitimately a puppet, so you know it's a really good time. Okay, so, I wanna talk a little bit about the G-Spot. So, there's a lot of debate about the G-Spot, in the sense that some people are, like, "oh, the G-Spot's not real," or, people are, like, "It's the clitoris, too," and, all of that. Well, first of all G-Spot is real, but, it is a part of the clitoris, which is fun. Anatomy, yea! So, you access the G-Spot, which is the apex of the clitoris. It's the interior part of it. I don't know why I'm doing it with my hands when I've got Valerie. The clitoris is here and if you reach into the vagina, the G-Spot is here. So, actually, where I'm touching the outer exposed part of the G-Spot when you do that. You insert two fingers and it's, like, a rocking horse motion or kinda like a, "Come hither," and, that's how you access the G-Spot. Sort of like a velvety, corduroy, kind of, feeling. That's the texture you'll feel when you get to the G-Spot. It's not really, necessarily, a spot as much as it's an area. It's the area surrounding the urethral sponge. So, it's not just one specific area... It's not, necessarily, that you're gonna hit one spot and be, "There's my G-Spot, I hit it, I got it." it's more, like, an area. And, clitoral stimulation, outer clitoral stimulation, is more of, like, a difference in the rumbly and tickly vibrators. It's a more pinpointed, intense stimulation and feeling. Whereas the G-Spot stimulation, for most people, is more of a deeper, intense, "rumblier" form of stimulation. And, some people like to have their G-Spot stimulated by themselves, some people like to have just their outer clitoris, or clitoral crura, wings, stimulated and some people like to have a combination of both. Or, like to have their labia stimulated while their clitoris is being stimulated. There are all kinds of things you can do. So, why are G-Spot vibrators important and how do they work? So, you've got our clitoral stimulator, it's like a little guy. It's designed for the outer portion of the clitoris, the part you can see. And, it's just a little guy. Now, a G-Spot stimulator is, this is an intense representation of what a G-Spot stimulator is. It's ridged and purple and, kind of, gigantic and it has this, like, a whole situation. But, the reason that the G-Spot stimulator is shaped like this is so that it can go into the vaginal canal and be able to hook up so that it can reach that G-Spot area. And, that's a really nice feeling for a lot of vulva owning individuals. Another great thing about a G-Spot stimulator is that you can also, it doesn't, necessarily, just have to be used for that. It's a multi-dimensional toy. So, a G-Spot stimulator can also be used for the clitoris, whether it's over the clitoral hood or under the clitoral hood, which ever you prefer. So, it's very dynamic, in that sense. So, if you're somebody who likes G-Spot stimulation and you just want to invest in one vibrator, I would probably go for the G-Spot wand. Because, that way, you're able to get that G-Spot stimulation and you can, also, double it as a clitoral vibrator. And, that's very useful and also economical. So, that's my schpiel on G-Spots. If anybody else has questions, feel free to jump into O.School and ask a question or comments, concerns, more about prices, materials, whatnot. Otherwise, that's probably much everything I had to say about vibrators, today. If you want to pay me, which is cool, O.School, there is a tip jar. It's, like, a little jar with a money sign. Feel free to jump in there and leave me money. 'Cause I love money and getting your tips makes it possible for me to be here every Tuesday. That's pretty much everything I had to say about vibrators. I hope I was thorough and I hope you guys enjoyed this broadcast. Brittany is gonna be dropping in all of my social media links. So, you can follow me on Twitter, @GigiEngle. You can follow me on Instagram, @GigiEngle. You can follow me on Facebook at GigiEngleWriter. Oh, wait, one more question, yea! Okay, Jackie, "Was wondering what you think of "the We-Vibe Touch and how it compares to "Lelo Nea or other clitoral vibrators. I actually love both of those vibrators." I actually have the We-Vibe Tango with me, right here. It is an unopened version, I couldn't find mine. A great clitoral vibrator. I love both of those vibrators. I think both of them are more on the tingly vibrator side. They both have a lot of vibrator patterns, both are made from really good materials. So, I guess, if I had to choose, I would probably go with the We-Vibe. I just, generally, prefer their products over Lelo. But, Lelo's also amazing, they're both really good. It's really whatever you prefer. I think they're, probably, in the similar price range. So, it's really, whatever you're interested in and whatever floats your boat. I guess, if you're gonna be looking at those two vibrators, and, you're, like, "Which one do I wanna buy," and they're at the same price point, you can go native and be, like, "I want this one 'cause it's blue," or, "I want this one 'cause it's cuter." And, that's fine, 'cause it's your sex toy and you can do whatever the fuck you want, 'cause it's your body and your life. And, you can do whatever you want with your sex toy collection, no one gets to tell you. Okay, so, that's everything I had to say about sex toys. If you are in the O.School interface, Brittany just dropped in all my links. My website is missgigiengle.com. Come follow me, come check out where all my latest classes are, all of that good stuff. Speaking of classes, I am here every Tuesday at 5 p.m. central and 6 p.m. eastern, 3 p.m. pacific time. That did not... that came out, there we go, I got it. Okay, sorry, I'm trying to find my class for next week. So, next week, we are gonna be talking more about sex toys, which is super exciting. We're gonna be talking about prostate toys! And, prostate toys are some of my favorite to talk about. I love talking about prostate stimulation, I love talking about the de-stigmatization of the prostate. Prostate stimulation is the best and there is no prostate orgasm like a prostate orgasm. No, they do, there's definitely an orgasm. There's a prostate orgasm, they're the best, they're awesome. So, we're gonna talk about prostate toys next week. And, we're gonna talk all about anal stuff and we're gonna talk about the butt hole. We're gonna talk about different toys you can buy. And, it's gonna be a really good time. So, I'm here every Tuesday, 5 p.m. central, 6 p.m. eastern, 3 p.m. pacific. My name is Gigi Engle, again, for anyone who's just happened to be joining in.
