Prosthetic penises can be functional, fun, sexy, and very realistic. Most importantly, they can help trans-masculine people experiencing dysphoria as it relates to the genitals — the feeling of not connecting to your body because a piece feels missing.

In this stream, sex educator Sharin’ Peter and her special guest Mason Luke, who identifies as trans-masculine, discuss how to pack, play and pee with prosthetic penises.

Prosthetic penises can run anywhere from $10 to $1,000, and finding the right one can take a bit of research and experimentation as they range in price, realism, density, texture, material, color, function, etc. You can also find cut and uncut prosthetics and ones for different anatomy types — if you have very flat genitals, for example, you may need a different prosthetic than someone with very full labia or a fupa. You can also choose a prosthetic with silicone testicles that are soft and squishy or ones with something such as Amaze Balls, which are weighted balls floating in liquid in the prosthetic testicles. They serve different purposes and can be used for packing, pee, and play.

Packer Prosthetics

Starting with a basic packer — such as the Doc Johnson Pack It Light, products by GenderCat.com — can be a good entryway that allows for an everyday experience of having a penis as it simply sticks to your body with an adhesive pad or suction cup, and you can sit to pee with it on, walk around, and even go jogging with it. It can creates a nice bulge in your pants, depending on the size you choose, and can give you the feeling of having a penis.

Pee Prosthetics

Another reason a trans-masculine person might want a prosthetic penis is so they can feel more comfortable using the bathroom that matches their gender. A Stand to Pee (STP) prosthetic goes over your genitals so you can pee out of it, which can be very body affirming. You may want to try something like the Basic Bro by Tranzwear, EZP by Transthetics, or Emisil Compact STP. If you can’t afford a prosthetic, however, you may want to try a simple funnel device like Go Girl that can be found in the camping section of Walmart and is a simple funnel that enables you to pee while standing.

Play Prosthetics

A prosthetic can also be used for pleasure and play and is a good alternative if you’re wanting gender affirmation surgery but can’t afford it, or are waiting to get surgery. Before you can get surgery, you must be on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for a time so your clitoris can enlarge and be used to make a penis. Since you are essentially growing a penis out of the clitoris, you could get a prosthetic with a hole for your clitoris that allows for clitorial stimulation in a way that’s more masculine and body affirming.

The inside of a prosthetic can have ridges for the clitoris and functions like a stroker, and the prosthetic can be used for masturbation. You could try the GenderMender GenderExtender. You could also try one with a jock strap for penetrative sex that allows both partners to experience physical pleasure, like PPA with Jock Strap by CalExotics. There’s also Mason by the New York Toy Collection, which is made of high-quality silicone, and you can position it however you’d like for penetration. It has a rod inside that allows for movement. For play, Mason recommends Sliquid, which is a water-based lube as a silicone-based lube might damage the prosthetic depending on its material.

You don’t have to get a different prosthetic to fulfill each of your different needs, as some prosthetics are pack, pee, and play all-in-one. The Packer Gear STP, for example, is a packer and STP.

Prosthetics are meant for the looks, buldge, body affirmation, and reducing body dysmorphia. They can do so much for those who either don’t want surgery, can’t afford it, or are waiting to get surgery. All in all, these devices are meant to serve your needs and if you do enough research and experimentation, you can hopefully find the right prosthetic for you.
